Monday Morning Memo for November 5, 2018
For this week, I'd like to talk about people and their pets. The ones I'm thinking about aren't looking to buy or sell a home. Their dearest wish is simply to be able to continue to live with their sweet animal companions, even though money is tight.
They are the people who are on the verge of having to relinquish their beloved animals to a shelter because at the end of the month, there's just not enough left to pay for food and veterinary care.
That's where Phinney's Friends comes in. The mission of this all-volunteer organization is to enable Massachusetts people and pets to be able to stay together, even when circumstances might be rough.
The group's major fundraising event is its "Paws for the Holidays" Festival, which will be held next Sunday, November 11th, at the lovely Pierce House mansion in Lincoln. I've gone to the festival for the last two years, and plan to visit again--both for the fun and to lend my support, in whatever way I can, so that more local people and pets can live free from the fear of being separated.
I'll be running over to Lincoln after my Open House at 65 Vaughn Hill Road in Bolton (11-1). If you'll plan to drive over for the festivities, please let me know--I'd love to meet you there!
